The Sons of Sanguinius

 Hello!
I  (Rapid) was most humbled when asked to contribute the the mighty Woffboot blog! Blood Angels player through and through, originally playing 2nd edition however many years ago that was (insert moment of denial to actual age). Coaxed back in early 8th and fallen for the game ever since. 40k has renewed friendships and created many more, including the wonderful chaps at Woffboot.
Play style wise, its about having fun. No one likes to lose all the time but its great to just have those awesome smashing battles where heroes are made or broken!
9th is turning out to be some great fun with the BA. Lets hope for some belters going forward!
First port of call is to add my main army, the Blood Angels to the already well stocked army lists that Woffboot commands.
Currently standing at approximately 6450pts painted. With over 5000pts left to paint. That number MAY have gone up today with some purchases. ..
"No Dear I haven't bought any more plastic space men"
/rehearsal.
Fingers crossed the Necron and Tyranid army will follow at some point!
The wonderful image below links to the Army Page.
Thanks!

Skarloc and Pals

Let's start the Wood Elf army with an Oldhammer classic - the legendary Regiment of Renown: Skarloc's Wood Elf Archers!

Skarloc's Wood Elf Archers
Originally came with "runesword with runes of swiftness, armour and protection"
(whatever the hell that does).

Out with the New, in with the Old

Seeing Stylus's recent updating of his Savage Orcs got me mulling over some of my own previous painting crimes. I'd also run out of new models to paint (and hobby budget for the year), so I went through some of my old ice cream tubs to see what was stashed away in them.

These are the very first lead miniatures I ever bought. The minotaur is the actual first, from GW Preston (never lived there, long story), and although his paint job had been touched up a few years back, he'd had a recent run-in with my three-year-old nephew. Varnish proved insufficient to protect him from a few chips, given that said nephew rolls not dice but actual minis. After conclusively proving that he could beat a giant scorpion in a fight (the scorpion fell to pieces first), he was on the list.

I think my basing was supposed to represent stable sweepings on a dungeon floor.

De Förlorade och De Fördömdas

This is how my brain works when my daughter wakes me up at five in the morning.

"I wish I'd been at the Woffboot the other weekend. Oh look, my old Realms of Chaos books. That gives me an idea."

In the absence of actual battlefields to deploy them on, I felt a deep-rooted, possibly even unhealthy need to partake of some non-video gaming for a change. Neither of the Krakenettes were remotely interested, of course, and despite my evangelical tendencies for gaming, I'm yet to really find any Swedes up for Warhammer. Actually, that's not true, I did find one but he was a fucking loon pot who I'm not particularly desperate to invite into my home.

Yet.

I am therefore playing with myself. Feel free to avert your eyes as I give you, gentlemen, the two-part saga of an unholy yet classic struggle writ large. Behold, four champions of the Dark Gods, locked in battle to become the most potent and powerful of servants - the Demon Prince!

A Window for Rulebooks

I'm using the Realms of Chaos books, so everything contradicts everything else, has no attempts at balancing and uses the Oldhammer rules. Except I don't actually have an Oldhammer rulebook to hand, so I'm sort of playing 8th Ed and adapting on the fly.

First things first - I shall need four warbands, one for each of the Ruinous Powers. To the random dice tables!
