Competition time!

Buckle up for a big milestone - this blog is soon to reach 1000 posts!

And so we're giving away this big fella!

(Note: the battle is over, so the competition is now closed. Stay tuned for the winner!)

As a celebration of seven years and one thousand posts (trust me, when we hit Post #1000, I'll be crunching some numbers), we have secured this limited edition Terminator Captain (available as a Games Workshop store-opening exclusive).

One of our lucky blog readers is going to win him, posted to you, and painted up in the colours of your choice by our very own Kraken.

So how can you win? Well, it's basically a prize draw, but you can enter more than once to really stack the odds in your favour, and there's even a narrative twist! We do love a narrative twist:
  • Drop a comment down below. That's one name in the hat.
  • Follow, Like and Comment tagging a friend on our Instagram post. That's another name in the hat.
  • Follow, Like, Re-tweet and Reply tagging a friend on our Twitter post. That's another name in the hat.
  • Follow, Like and Reply tagging a friend on our Facebook post. That's another name in the hat.
  • Follow our blog (that's the button on the top-right). That's another name in the hat.
Now here's where it gets interesting. We've just begun a new narrative campaign where the Space Wolves are fighting the Thousand Sons. We've had the initial skirmish and the next battle will be a full-on 2000pts, no-mercy showdown. The battle report for this will be our 999th post (so that's home advantage to Tzeentch!)

But who will win? In any and all of the comments above, you can pick who you think will emerge victorious:
  • Write #TeamKraken and if the Thousand Sons win, that's five more names in the hat.
  • Write #TeamStylus and if the Space Wolves win, that's five more names in the hat.

The winner of the battle will be revealed ... well, in the battle report. And the winner of the draw will be made in the following update - post #1000! So stay tuned!

NB Even if you don't pick the winner, don't worry - you'll still go into the draw for doing all the other stuff. But I can't guarantee the level of paint job if you bet against Kraken and still win the prize.

I'm not saying I'd use enamels. But I'm not not saying it, either.

    2. Just don't tell Kraken my army is yellow...

  7. Voting for Tzeentch in post 999 seems too obvious for the great manipulator. Winning would be the expected outcome! So to throw his enemies off his plans (grand, obviously), he allows the pups to "win". #teamstylus

  8. As a member of the group, I probably can't win... although it would look great in Crypt Angel colours!
And that reason is going to topple me off of the fence, and I have to therefore back #teamKraken.
    sorry Stylus.

    1. As a member of the WoffBoot, you *definitely* can't win.

Also, as someone who backed Kraken ... you definitely can't win.

    2. Also, as someone who wants Crypt Angels colours, you definitely definitely can't win.

  9. Excellent idea and great progress with the blog, its hard to keep the motivation for blogs and the work involved has meant a drop off of new blogs in favour for snap instant posts on social media sites but I miss the author's commentary and following progress of projects and the ease of searching the blog provides.

    1. Thank you. Luckily we're too old to follow modern trends, so we'll be blogging forever!

  11. Congratulations dudes, a lot if effort has gone in to the blog over the years. I would have voted the other way but those wolves made me vote for #TeamStylus

  13. #teamKraken because as much as I love Space wolves and #teamstylus, #Magnusdidnothingwrong . Plus 999th post just has to be a sign from Tzeentch right?

  14. I use Enamel out of a Spray Can, shot onto a Plastic Chinese Takeaway lid as a Pallet. Then use Turps as a magic thinner/ flowaid/ wash medium/ eraser? Oh yes, the beauty of enamel.
However i got some real GW paint for Christmas (i hate it, but shhh don't tell my Aunty). So now i use enamel in Summer and the rest in Winter.

I think the cheesy Thousand Sons will win but i hope Leman Russ comes back and kills the shit out of them.

My friends and I have just started 40k Blogs so we hope to be as successful as you and in your position one day.

Well Done on the Milestone. Goodluck in the Future.

  15. #teamKraken. Cause you should never send a wolf to do a smurf's job...
Seriously, a great narrative so far and looking forward to seeing how this one unfolds!

Nothing against the wolves, just a heretical side of me that wants to see the Thousand Sons win something every now and then
