Someone gets a Klyntar symbiote, now everyone wants one.
It's Spider-Gwen, but with a Venom symbiote. It didn't take a great leap of imagination to get there, but they did a really good job with the character design: having the symbiote's mouth forming the hood of Gwen's costume is inspired.
The model came with the option for an electric guitar/axe that is splitting the rock Gwenom is leaping over. This confused me because Gwen Stacey notably plays the drums. It turns out that the axe belongs to her opponent, Mary-Jane Carnage (let's have that model, please), so it's more of a defensive leap. Either way, I left it off (maybe something for an Emperor's Children kitbash).
Painting-wise, I'm getting the hang of black now (it's the red cloak of the Web Warriors) - so drybrushing Eshin Grey, Dawnstone, Celestra Grey, then a wash of Nuln Oil to bring it down. I also layered over the highlights with thinned-down Thunderhawk Blue (which is so subtle, it's barely visible). And a final cover of Black Legion contrast on the obvious symbiote bits.
The pink tongue was based Screamer Pink with layers of Screamer Pink/Ulthuan Grey, and Emperor's Children. I don't get on well with the Citadel pinks, and it didn't seem warm enough, so I gave it another layer of Evil Sunz Scarlet/Ulthuan Grey and a glaze of thinned Volpus Pink contrast.
The original Gwen-Stacy is a core piece of the Web Warriors, so it might be hard for Gwenom to get a game, but I have an all-Klyntar list in mind (Venom, Carnage, Agent Venom, Gwenom) that I'd like to play, so stay tuned for snacks!
