Hush little psyker, don't say a word.
Funny unit this - five Prosecutors, the Sisters of Silence with boltguns. A bit of padding in the otherwise well-stuffed Shadow Throne box, and indeed in any Custodes army.
In the fluff, these terrifying psychic blanks are almost undetectable to mere mortals, an icy shudder you feel before death. Something like a mini-Culexus assassin, almost. Obviously that would be obnoxious on the battlefield, but having them as basic power armoured mortals, same kind of stats as their louder cousins the Sisters of Battle, makes me wonder. Are they just around in a Custodes army so your opponent has an easy target for a change?
Similarly, the models don't quite grab me. They're fine, a bit bland maybe, nice cloaks and guns but otherwise nothing very exciting. I like the greatsword option much more, which is good, because there may well be more of these down the line. For now, they're a quick paint in drab colours, I'm perfectly happy with them, and I'm moving on.
Painting Guide:
- Black undercoat
- Iron Hands Silver, nuln and agrax, then Oily Steel and Mithril Silver touchs for the armour
- Leather is Dryad Bark, nuln, a drybrush of Leather Brown mixed upwards with Elven Flesh
- Reds with Black Red, nuln, Khorne Red and Khorne Red plus Elven Flesh to finish (I spilt a blob of Elven Flesh and found creative ways to use it up)
- Skin was Tanned Flesh, Reikland Flesh, Barbarian Flesh, Kislev Flesh and Flayed One Flesh
- Cloaks and Hair were German Grey, Nuln, then a bit of shading up from Necromancer Cloak towards Ash Grey and Ulthuan Grey
- Bases are sand and eggshell plus Oxide dust, Zandri Desert and Terminatus Stone drybrushing
Four more models to go before I hit a dry paint queue again!
