Stupefy!

Image result for fake harry potter

Just a very quick post - it's been my eldest daughter's birthday this week, and her chosen theme for the year is Harry Potter.

My wife sprang into action and quickly made some wands as party favours. I got to do the painting! These once were chopsticks and household odds and ends, transformed by a glue gun. What they lack in terms of the Noble Collection's fine detail and authenticity, they more than make up for in terms of not costing thirty quid a pop. No elaborate painting needed, just a few washes and drybrushes, and ready to hand out at the party!

  1. That's brilliant work - kudos to Mrs Kraken.

My lot are currently into lightsabres, so they don't care how it looks as long as they can bash each other.

    1. Much harder to paint, that.

Mrs Kraken has also (so far) made chocolate frogs in authentic boxes, a swarm of flying keys, a potions lab (including a tiny smoke machine, whose possibilities I find enthralling), a host of posters and Daily Prophets and a large collection of candles that will be flown on invisible thread from the kitchen ceiling in due course. It is both terrifying and wonderful.

  2. Nice work, you two are clearly excellent parents!

    1. Ta! Although post-party, I'd qualify that to 'excellent and extremely tired parents'
