Back in the 1960s, if AI wanted to destroy the world, it created giant robots to stomp around.
In those days, we had standards.
Having thrown myself into the X-universe this year, I had to include one of the mutants' most iconic foes. No nuanced ideology here, just a big robot that wants to kill them.
As models, these guys are suitably impressive. I reckon they would tower over anything else in the game (until we get that Galactus model), and even a 40k Dreadnought wouldn't be able to look them in the eye.
Painting-wise, there were too many large flat panels for layering, but overbrushing worked fine. Kantor Blue with Caledor Sky; Gal Vorbak Red with Screamer Pink. Finish off the details, and I was done!
Completing the set is the even bigger Sentinel Prime (now we're talking about a model that can eyeball a Daemon Primarch). Same paint scheme for this one, although he did some with some alternate body parts that were damaged to reveal the inner workings.
I decided to built this Sentinel pristine (I don't want my lead model looking shabby), but that excess pieces are going to make for some great scatter terrain to throw around - when I finally stop painting models and get back to terrain!
