Some more characters for Crisis Protocol coming up, and I seem to have picked a colour scheme with these guys.
First up is Carnage, the less-charming and more psychotic symbiote from the spider-family. He recently got an update, which made me realise he was the only Spider-Foe not in my collection.
Rapid was nice enough to print me out a model, which was a simple matter of reds and blacks, with some 'Ardcoat to shine up the symbiote tendrils.
Elektra is a Daredevil anti-hero from the 80s' comics craze for ninjas. I didn't care much for the character, but the pose is fantastic, so she'll be high-kicking her way into my Criminal Syndicate team soon.
Speaking of ninja infatuation, Elektra comes with grunts: Hand Ninjas. There are the standard martial arts goons of Marvel Comics, and generally appear whenever Daredevil or the X-Men need to punch something. They've long been favourites of mine, so when I found the box at a bargain price, I snapped it up.
Interestingly, these grunts can be paired with Elektra or Shadowland Daredevil (below), so I'm not sure how practicable it is to play them both on the same team. Although the Ninja do have a mechanic of vanishing in their turn, so maybe it works out.
Which brings us to their boss: Shadowland Daredevil. This represents a phase on ol' hornhead's career when he became the head of the ninja clan (as many lawyers do) and turned to evil. His colour scheme is supposed to be a dark grey, but I fancied painting him in his original red & gold scheme (and how would he even know?)
Despite his white and yellow cloak (always nightmare colours), he was pretty fun to paint, and I'm very happy with how he turned out. In addition to the usual alliances, he's also part of the Hydra affiliation, which is a squad I've been having some fun with.
Last up is friend to no-one: The Punisher. Like many a teenage lad, I was very keen on a character whose superpower was owning a lot of guns, and dutifully read all three of the concurrent Punisher titles. He fell out of favour subsequently, but I will say that Jon Bernthal's portrayal in the latest TV series has won me back.
Not much to write home about with his paint job, as it's basically black fatigues, although I was happy to capture his skull logo and general look of disapproval.
Back to the X-universe for next time!
