More progress on my Blackstone Fortress set.
More Gland-Hounds for the Creations of Bile. I hadn't intended to add these to my Hobbypocalypse project, but when Chapter Approved 2021 came out and dropped the points for Chaos Space Marine units (thanks, I think), I had some last-minute point-stuffing to bring up my quota to 250pts.
While the other squad of Traitor Guardsmen are doing their best to pass in my Astra Militarum army, this lot are full-on traitors.
I went for a completely different scheme, unified within the squad, and chose the traditional Cadian colours (to really rub the loyalist noses in it - plus, it's a great scheme!)
- Uniform: Zandri Dust base, Agrax Earthshade wash
- Armour - Castellan Green base, Agrax Earthshade wash
- Weapons - Deathworld Forest base, Leadbelcher base, Nuln Oil wash
- Cloth: Gal Vorbak Red base, Agrax Earthshade wash
- Pale Skin: Bugman's Glow base, Kislev Flesh layer
- Dark Skin: Rhino Hide base, Mornfang Brown layer
- Eye lenses: Ulthuan Grey base, Talassar Blue contrast
- Belts: Chaos Black
- Boots: Dryad Bark
I like this lot better than the first batch I painted - something about the familiar colours being corrupted. The kits themselves are lovely, and it's a shame that it's only seven monoposes. I may have to lure some of the new Krieg Guardsman to the dark side.
This Guardsman, shown to be taking aim (most uncharacteristically) has his glove cut away from his trigger finger. Utterly superfluous detail, very cool and I absolutely love it.
The grenade guy is one of my favourites - completely festooned with kit, and a gas mask to complete the ensemble. Shame Cultists can't have grenades - maybe he's just lobbing duds as a distraction.
I still dream of the day the Traitor Guard codex arrives. Smashing models, and I'm a big fan of the paint scheme!
ReplyDeleteThanks! Yes, I'd be all over Traitor Guard. Until then, I'll just have Imperial Guard with dubious hobbies.
