The Greatest Showman

The original yellow costume. Eat your heart out, Bananaman.

Marvel Crisis Protocol: Wolverine

I've been waiting for Wolverine on back-order for over six months. While I placated myself with other versions of Logan, it was Wolverine in his X-Man uniform that I wanted to paint the most.

And very enjoyable he was to paint too. It was the usual path of yellow (Averland Sunset base, Nazdreg Yellow contrast, Averland Sunset, Yriel Yellow, Flash Gitz Yellow and a final glaze of Lamentor's Yellow).

Once that was done, it was just a matter of layering in the other colours and keeping a steady hand. I even went with non-metallic metal for the claws (on some of the models, it just feels more comic-appropriate).

The miniature did come with an alternate head without the mask, but those black 'ears' are just too iconic. I'm toying with the notion of getting another, just so I can paint him in the brown-and-tan scheme (I was torn about which one to do), and I'd probably stick the mask on that one too.

As a final touch for the base, I used a couple of bottles that come with every sprue of bases. Atomic Mass Games kindly supply a variety of crushed cans, coffee cups and bottles as extra scatter, and I always forget about them, so I've amassed quite the landfill. For this one, Wolverine is partial to a beer, so I added a couple of brewskis (Canadian, naturally)
