I'm Loving Angel Instead

Have no fear - Captain Hula-Hoop is here!

Marvel Crisis Protocol: Angel

I was critical of the Archangel sculpt, but I'm much keener on Warren Worthington III's earlier version: Angel. Lovely big feathered wings, bold uniform colours, and a pose that does a great job of suggesting flight. He's even got that self-satisfied look that only a trust fund can bring.

Painting him was also a treat. I primed white, then washed the wings with Skeleton Horde contrast, followed by a drybrush of Ushabti Bone.

The white unform was washed in Basilicanum Grey, then layered with Ulthuan Grey. The red part was Khorne Red base, Mephiston Red and Wild Rider Red layers.

The halo on his chest was a freehand, as it's not indicated on the model (although it is a part of the comic book design, so I had to have a go).

And that's another of the First Class done!
