Voulez-vous Escher Avec Moi?

 Ce soir?

I know, I know, it's an impossible hill to climb. I'll be two box sets from the top of it before the Man in Nottingham sticks a new bunch on top. Impossible things are the only ones worth attempting, however, so excelsior!

Escher this time, the Wyld Runners and Death Maidens. And their cat-things, the Felynx, which I am decidedly less keen on. Look at those tiny teeny legs! A single contact point is a disaster waiting to happen.

Ah well - at least I could have fun doing weird colours on them. Zebra dude is my favourite.

The Wyld Runners have great poses and cool-looking equipment, although they're a bit so-so on the table. Slightly better stats than most juves, but their gear is sadly unimpressive. Fun, though - exploding arrows and cat packs feel good to have with you, just don't expect much more than an entertaining distraction from them.

Mostly straight kit here, just a few head swaps. The Afrika Korps pith helmet worked well, I think.

Dark Lady

Death Maidens are kind of the polar opposite of the Wyld Runners - freight trains in terms of effectiveness, but very fussy kit to assemble, and I'm not as sold on the poses. I swapped a whip in for one instead of the claw (lets them hit you from miles away, making it easier to get a charge off), but if she can use it more than once without getting it caught in her headdress, she's having a good day.

Swinging by GW to pick these up (mail order), I also got the store freebies for the month. It was some clan rats at that point, a safe bonus in that there is no way I'm starting that army. Nice sculpts, I particularly like the tiny rat on the right-hand guy's foot.

There is just one core House expansion kit left for me to get (I'm not doing vehicles, I swear), then one last gang before I can coast down a hill of Forge World characters to the grave. I can do this!

  1. Keep chasing that dream of completion. I believe.

How did you manage to get two free minis from GW? Was it the old tactic of dragging in the kids to 'introduce' them to the hobby?

    1. The clanrats came as a pair, somehow - even WarCom listed them like that. No idea why, but I think it speaks volume as to the worth of one ratman's life.
