Helldogs on Wheels

The Cindarr Helldogs don't walk anywhere!

To accompany my commission of Tempestus Scion infantry, I was also painting up a couple of vehicles for them to ride into battle.

Again, these were converted up by Brapscallion (does anyone leave the tracks on these vehicles?) for me to paint.

I've painted a Valkyrie transport in the same style, so this was a nice continuity. Once the black armour had been dusted with Mechanicus Grey, it was just a case of picking out the details.

And naturally, I was going to add transfers to any flat surface I could find. In addition to some kill strikes and serial numbers, these trucks got the names "Peach" and "Rosemary".

Last, but certainly not least, another airship for the Scions. This one converted for heavy-duty armour-busting - the Vendetta!

Same drill as the Valkyrie: a dark colour scheme with the details picked out.

The double-brace of lascannons where painted Gal Vorbak Red, same as the infantry guns. There were also a lot of lenses and lights to add a splash of colour - the really big lens at the front got special treatment of highlights and shades.

The characteristic red stripes (this one gets three, to distinguish it) were done with masking tape and stippling.

The pilots were given a custom head, and gluing the canopy on was an easier (mercifully fog-free) experience.

Of course, the only reason to have these gunships is for the nosecone pin-up art. This one got insectoid eyes, mandibles in homage to Brapscallion's Badab War Mantis Warriors - she's a real man-eater!

And that's me done with the Cindarr Helldogs. If you'd like to see them in action, send Brapscallion an immediate DM and tell him to play them against Winters SEO.

Such a simple paint scheme but works wonderfully.
