Bully's Special Prize

I seem to have taken a left turn into Age of Sigmar,

Galagaak, Raging Tarvox from Mierce Miniatures

But lets moove on regardless!

My Beasts of Chaos army is already well-staffed with rank-and-file Gor (and a couple of crazy monsters to boot), but what I really wanted was the Ghorgon as a centrepiece. And having seen this as a potential proxy, I wanted no other.

The proper name for this monster is Galagaak, the Raging Tarvox, and comes from the sculpting artists at Mierce Miniatures.

This would usually be well out of my price range, but in the wake of the UK's economic drop following a certain referendum several years ago, the marketing geniuses at Mierce offered a reduced-price deal (it may have been due to the currency exchange, or just a clever ploy - either way, it got me!)

You have to give it to Mierce - no modesty-sparing loincloth here.

Very easy and enjoyable to paint up - nice to be working with fur and flesh after so much power armour.
  • Skin: Skrag Brown base, Agrax Earthshade wash, Kislev Flesh (air) drybrush (Bugman's Flesh on knees, elbows and knuckles)
  • Mane: as above, plus Gore-Grunta Fur contrast
  • Weapon blades: Chaos Black base, Leadbelcher drybrush, thinned Typhus Corrosion wash, Reza Rust drybrush, Blood for the Blood God
  • Weapon hafts: Zandri Dust (wood), XV-88 (leather), Agrax Earthshade wash
  • Horns: Zamesi Desert base, Zandri Dust drybrush, Chaos Black drybrush
  • Mouth: Bugman's Flesh base, Kislev Flesh layer (Carroburg Crimson wash on tongue)
  • Teeth and claws: Ushabti Bone base, Seraphim Sepia wash

And the beast is done! Hoping to give him a run-out with his little siblings next week.
