Underworlds warbands incoming!
Grodrig the Lance |
I didn't know how popular four ghosts would be - but it turns out that Drepur's Wraithcreepers were everyone's favourite (including mine!).
Some great ploys and fantastic movement shenanigans, with a reasonable amount of offense and defence, made these guys the team to beat.
The Patrician |
And the unlikely MVP was The Patrician! You'd think just having a drum would put him at a disadvantage, but his ability to move his own team out-of-sequence was incredible.
Sire Haqfel |
For painting them, I got experimental and tried some zenthial highlighting techniques: basically undercoating the entire miniature in black and then just adding a white undercoat from a single direction to simulate light (all with a rattle can - I'm too poor and incompetent for airbrushes).
With the highlighting all done, Contrast paints could do the job for me fairly effectively.
- Undercoat: black, then zenithal white
- Robes: Nighthaunt Gloom wash
- Ghostly trails: Hexwraith Flame/Lahmian Medium wash, Ulthuan Grey
- Bone: Ushabti Bone base, Skeleton Horde contrast
- Blades: Ironbreaker base, Typhus Corrosion wash, Ryza Rust drybrush
- Weapon hafts: Wychwood contrast
- Bases: Dawnstone drybrush, Ulthuan Grey drybrush
- Ivy: Death Guard Green base, Biel-Tan Green wash
- Roses: Blood Angels Red

I'm very impressed with the tartan! Brave, but you pulled it off brilliantly!
ReplyDeleteNo one attempts tartan patterns with impunity!
