Totally Eradical

It's the closing days of 20bastard20, and I've completed a commission!

A final dash of Indomitus Primaris marines for the Crypt Saints (that's the loyalist branch of the Crypt Angels these days), starting with the ferocious fire support of a unit of Eradicators.

I've already come up against these once on the field, and they are no joke. Very hard hitting, and pretty damn tough to shift off the field. Tying them up in combat is probably the easiest way of dealing with them, and even there, it's going to take something dedicated to the action to remove these marine specialists quickly.

The smoke on the sarge's barrel is a twist of cotton wool dunked in superglue and given a splash of Nuln Oil. Quick and relatively effective.

Three characters to round out what has been a 1500 point block of troops (quite an effective assault-rush army, if anyone fancies trying them out before they head home in the post). First up is this weird baldy man, the Judiciar. Kind of the loyalist equivalent of a Master of Executions, he's a character killer in assault. Not sure I like the head, it's leaning on the chaos cultist side a bit, but nice grimdark vibe otherwise.

Then there's this splendid Primaris Chaplain, who's just great. Brash and shouty, just like you'd expect.

Finally, another of my 'famous heroes but if Crypt Angels' series - it's Blood Angel Head Librarian, Mephiston. Something about his pose suggests Marilyn Monroe to me, it's the billowing skirt I think.

And that's very nearly my full year's painting! I'm doing my taxes tonight, see how the leadpile fared...

  1. Excellent work on Mephy and the Chaplain, but that Judicar's head really puts a smile on my face.

    1. Facebook keeps advertising a similar line of urban face protection to me. Could be a job opening some day, i should invest.
