The Hell Blade Play

 Ooh, Forge World stuff!

A swift commission for Kasfunatu, this, and my spoils of it will be forthcoming. Resin is always a devil to assemble, but once you've got it stuck together it's hard to complain.

First up, a pair of Technical Drones for the T'Pau sept. Drones are always infuriating to play against. Giving them the ability to actually mend damaged battlesuits (as well as dive in front of your missile-based attempts to take them out) is just gilding the lily. This pair will blend into the existing swarm, so have blue stripes on top in an effort to stand out.

Next is a flyer for the evil side of the Crypt Angels - it's a Hell Blade!

Sleek as you like, this was a fairly quick and easy piece to do. Apart from the cockpit, which was a total nightmare - I had to make my own windshields for starters. This is version three - the first ones didn't fit, the second ones frosted over with superglue and the third ones were, like the porridge, juuuust right.

However! The canopy, which I'd painted separately and remembered not to varnish this time, wasn't a good fit. The angle was too obtuse, and trying to squash it in and then fix it with PVA was a no go - it just sprang back out before the glue could dry. I was reluctant to use superglue in case it frosted the windows again, but there really wasn't another option. And even then, it still isn't sitting quite flush, but I guess it'll do!

The base is locally sourced stone and a bit rusty metal I found lying about. No maws on this craft for a change, I figured it's being flown by a non-marine and thus from an affiliated part of the Rylstone military. But it did get stretchy pink sinew instead, so there's no question which chapter it's working with. The Alpha Legion until it goes in the post, most likely - a superfast shooty flyer certainly looks fun to try out!

More when I've finished it!
