Ghostal Service
It's official. I have wasted all these years trying to get good.
Goddamn Contrast paint really is pretty effective. There's nothing as humilitating as learning to do layering over five years and discovering that slopping on a thirty second coat of paint does the job slightly better than I ever could.
And yet here I am, using the Nighthaunt colours that came out just before Contrast really made it big. These ghosts had a pure white undercoat, an all-over douse of the bright green and then a layer of the shadowy one over their robes. And that was it, quickest models I've done this year (once you add on another hour for the bases and eyes).
Maybe I could have gone over them with extra edging, I don't know. They just looked good enough as they were that I didn't want to risk ruining it. Next time I do some spooks, I might have a go, but not a good idea to practice on other people's models!
I did extra edge highlights on this nun to try and make myself feel better. Didn't work.
To make up for it, there is now one lone batch of grunts left to do for Zombicide. Then it's character models all the way. Woooo!

They do look distressingly good for only a couple of hours' work (though you're normally pretty damn fast and still get great results). I've not tried Contrast yet but I suspect I may have to give in and give it a go
