The Bad Guys Too

 More X-villains!

Marvel Crisis Protocol: Emma Frost

My run through the mutants of Marvel continues apace. This time, we're working on some of the X-Men's antagonists. The theme today appears to be psychic villains and painting a lot of white cloth.

Marvel Crisis Protocol: Emma Frost

Perhaps Emma Frost doesn't count as a villain any more, since she's had something of a redemptive arc (and mercifully gained a pair of trousers) since her run as The White Queen. She's also an affiliation leader (of The Hellfire Club), so that opens up a new possibility.

Marvel Crisis Protocol: Emma Frost, diamond form

Frost's secondary mutation involves an indestructible diamond form, so that gives me a second model and even more white cloth to get through. As diamonds go, she's very blue, but I needed something to contrast her outfit and translucent wouldn't have shown up much.

Marvel Crisis Protocol: Cassandra Nova

Wearing clothes more suited to a countryside ramble in the Quantock, Cassandra Nova is Professor X's sort-of twin (don't look it up, it's weird even for comics) that brings a Threat 5 mystic and the final character in the Sentinels affiliation (all three of them!)

Marvel Crisis Protocol: Shadow King

Another X-villain with a powerful psychic ability (is anyone spotting a pattern here?) is the Shadow King. He's notorious for using psychological torture on his victims - presumably by making them paint white lounge suits. But the natty fez makes up for it.

The shadow-form on his shoulder was easy enough to paint - daemons are all the same (but I never forget a fez).

Marvel Crisis Protocol: Avalanche

On to some more of the Brotherhood of Mutants cannon fodder (after all, the pawns go first). Avalanche is one of the original members of Mystique's Brotherhood (along with Pyro and Blob), so I've got a nice roster going there).

He's got a great pose ripping up the pavement, which compensates for having to paint his armour, which is slightly off-white, making it even tricker than regular white.

Marvel Crisis Protocol: Lady Mastermind

Mastermind was one of the very first Brotherhood mutants, but since his uniform is just a brown overcoat, Atomic Mass Games opted for his daughter, Lady Mastermind, to fulfil the illusionist role. Black combat leather is fairly standard, but the pretend leopard was a treat to paint.

Marvel Crisis Protocol: Exodus

Last, but far from least, is Magneto's top acolyte: Exodus! He's the fourth Threat 5 in the Brotherhood (plus Magneto's Threat 6), so the Brotherhood now have an option to be either a team of scrappers of a handful of kaiju. Let's just not talk about the white cape.
