Cult all the way to the end of the year for me!
This is another batch of Neophytes, this time with autoguns. That means I've got another pack of twenty I can field, although there's a couple of spares who've sneaked in here.
They were crew for a Goliath, and I felt kind of bad not sticking them on to that model. When GW gives you spare legs, though, you've got to make the most of them. Fifty four cultists so far, and more to come.
Not much in the way of conversions this time, but I did snip the end off this mining laser and replace it with a crystal. One of the grunts has an oversize backpack (the flamer tanks from a Wolfquad), but otherwise these are unexciting troopers, the better to blend into the overall swarm.
Luckily, there were some slightly more unique individuals. Aberrants! Love these globby mutants, they're great. Particularly the faces, it's a real Goonies Squad.
A small pack of these seems like the perfect thing to put in a transport and sling at the enemy. A lot of damage potential, and not easy to mop away either - they'll take some dedicated firepower to shift with their damage reduction ability. Looking good is the main draw for me, though, and they've got that in spades. Or hammers.
Finally, a leader. I wasn't going to paint GSC without taking on the lady Magus at some point, but I've already got a Magus for the army. So this one got her staff swapped out for a sniper rifle (cobbled together from various spare Delaque weapons), so she can play at being a Sanctus.
Not exactly a cloaked assassin, at one with the shadows. She's just walking straight at you in her slinky boots. Isn't that more intimidating, though? Maybe the rifle's just for show, maybe she'll just stab you with the knife.
Right, I'll try and get the Goliath done before New Year, but no guarantees!
