Quadrophilia

The Crypt Angels continue to fly off the production line!

Space Marine Invaders, this week. Can't say I'm a big fan of the model, it looks like they've taken to riding about in a scalextric cart. And a rather static, flat-looking one, at that.

Leofa, who does Kasfunatu's builds for him, did a cracking job at sprucing it up a bit by this action repose, chopping up the steering and suspension so it's a lot more dynamic. Took a lot of work, i understand, the kit is pretty unforgivingly monopose. Swappable pintle mounts, of course, but all on pegs, no need for magnets here.

Shame, really, a marine quad bike could have been sweet! It's smaller than i expected, too. Underwhelming all round, although fairly tasty on the table. I think I'd rather have attack bikes, they do pretty much the same and i like the model better.

Accompanying these two is the excellent Biker Chaplain, who I'm a big fan of. Much better sculpt, although he is a character in fairness so you'd expect a bit more poise and panache. His hitting stick is particularly boss level, I'd say, but maybe someone should explain to him how a lanyard actually works?

One last model to do, then I'm a free agent once again!

  1. Lovely stuff - those quads do look smaller than I expected (unless the Chaplain is enormous). Hard to pass up on all that lovely melta wrapped in a dreadnought's worth of wounds, though.

    1. The more i look at them, the more they look like someone has made a cut-out-and-fold version of an Outrider on the back of a cereal packet, and just not folded it together right.
