EXT: Bunker

It's not proper 40K without some kind of abandoned fortification somewhere on the board.

This is another scratch build, this time taken from a plastic cake box. A very flimsy one, so it's got insulating foam sprayed on the inside to give it a bit of staying power, as before. The details are old mdf offcuts, the lid from an empty citadel paint pot and yet another door from Deep Madness, split down the middle into two.

So a very quick and easy build, glued down to a card base and then painted. The double spray I used, black then silver quickly after each other, dried with a very cool crackly effect that was down to pure luck! With a quick lick of rust powder in water, it's turned out nice. The moss on the roof is just stray bits of foam and glue painted green, whilst the corners got grey concrete-effect paint and some washes.

This has actually been nearly done for a bit, it got its premiere at the end of the Drawbridge campaign. It was just lacking a bit of highlighting and some transfers, which it now has. These are again taken from the GreenStuffWorld pack of train graffiti, simple but cool.

It should be good for pretty much any of my boards, or for Necromunda too (some sort of power substation or maybe an enforcer watch stockade), it's a decent line of sight blocker. Unless you climb on top of it, then it's a handy line of sight provider!

  1. Looks horrible! I love the details of the moss and leaking gunk
