Incy Wincy

 No water spout is safe!

I picked up a Venomcrawler cheap last week, and with all the building and basecoating done already, I went straight to work on it.

Somehow fitting that, beneath it all, it's still Alpha Legion.

I don't have a lot of daemonically possessed units in my Chaos roster - my Black Legion have little truck with them, and my Thousand Sons take the shortcut to full mutation - so this was a chance to try a different colour scheme.

Last year, I painted a Greater Possessed in bone-coloured armour. This was mostly to have an 'unaffiliated' colour for him, but the scheme has really grown on my, so I want to extend it to more daemon astartes.

The scheme is simple enough, applied over a black undercoat (or in this case, whatever colour was already there):
  • Armour: Wraithbone base, Seraphim Sepia wash, Bleached Bone drybrush
  • Gold: Retributor Armour base, Agra Earthshade wash, Golden Griffin drybrush
  • Red claws: Khorne Red base, Nuln Oil wash
  • Lots of the cabling and power packs were achieved with Contrast paints over white or leadbelcher, which is a great use for them.

And so we have the first units in my Possessed Chaos warband (I can't tell you which number this is, I've lost count).
