Rich T'au Biscuits

Not done any of these for a while!

First batch of a new set of commissions for Kasfunatu, and as ever, I'm getting the ones that daunt me most out of the way.

Not that these should - I've done enough T'au to know that although the Ochre can be a bit of a slog (three thin coats!), they do look neat once they're done. Rewarding!

Sniper Drones

Bit of a mix, this lot. Mostly drones, of course, but that's par for the course.

Drones come in different sizes, and some of the biggest ones are these Remoras. Chocolate Hobnob colour scheme on the top for them, they're almost exactly the right size if you remove the wings. Some painters accidentally sip from their painting water instead of their coffee in an absent moment. I wouldn't leave these by the biscuits.

Kas favours running these with his Coldstar Commanders. They're fast enough to keep up whilst still being able to tank shots for him, 9th Ed Character targeting rules or not. Irritating buggers, and able to throw a decent amount of shooting at the same time. I can't believe I'm enabling Kas with another four, but there you go!

A Cadre Fireblade, is what I think this guy is. A cheap HQ who can boost a gunline of T'au troopers on the table, adding extra shots as though they for some reason needed that. Quite why he's waving a sword about is anyone's guess, although you can tell the T'au aren't famed for their melee prowess, he's holding it wrong and he's forgotten to take it out of the scabbard.

Finally, leading this bunch is a pair of drones.

Not really! It's actually the famed commander, Shadowsun. Those clowns above are her fancy Advanced Guardian and Command Link Drones. Lovely looking model, even if she is bouncing off the near-traditional grimdark sculpture with one hoof like every other character in the stable these days.

She'll be guesting as the leader of Kas's T'Pau Sept (link goes to the updated fluff page), I suppose. Kas often uses B'orkan Sept for the extra range, and Shadowsun doesn't match that, but you never know with these dun-coloured xenos. Could be anything!

Next - a return to the Crypt Angels!
