Git da kettle on!
"There are many types of Oddboyz. The most important are Mekboyz, Painboyz. Runtherdz and Weirdboyz. Others include Brewboyz, Diggers, Sumboyz and Yellerz, all of which have their own specialised role on Ork society."
Codex Imperialis, 2nd Edition
Just a single painted model (but I've got to rack up that painting tally somehow!). This is an old lead Stormboy Kaptain that I discovered in my leadpile and painted up as a first birthday present for the on-demand battle report channel Deployment Zone TV
Winters, one of the two DZTV hosts, has recently acquired an Ork army painted by Den of Imagination (and having seen them up close, the quality is off-the-scale good). So I thought this flat-capped ork with a mug of tea would be appropriate.
Even though I have some of the newer choppas and shootas, I went completely old-school with this one. All the bits came off the original 'Space Ork' sprue. Including the pauldron where - glutton for punishment that I am - tried to freehand the DZTV logo.
So this chap has now been delivered to the studio of Winters SEO, where I'm sure he'll not want for a cuppa.
Painting him up was really fun. I had him on my painting desk while I worked on more involved projects, and just came back every now and again to add more. Makes me think I need to take the same approach with some of my other old Orks...

Paint them! Paint more orks! Do it!
ReplyDeleteI should really. A nice, elite, low-model count army. Orks would be perfect for me.
DeleteHa! Excellent! I always thought of Brewboyz as making beer, tho.
ReplyDeleteBeer is for celebrating. Tea is for getting things done.
