Gracious, Grandmamma, what a big beard you've got.
The Troglodytes, last of the minions for Massive Darkness, are tribes of evil-worshipping barbarians who live deep in the dungeons. I'm sold, basically - having something to fight that's basically some bad people is a good change from whacking monsters.
It's a real shame they aren't multi-pose. Same goes for all the minion models, actually, even just one variation would have been great. CMON usually do it as a stretch goal for the mobs in their Zombicide games, so I missed it here. All the same, it's a fine creepy bald guy motif, and I love the swords.
They've got red as their basic colour, and they've come out looking a bit Spartan. Probably a bit pale for those hardy outdoors types, but I was chanelling Gerard Butler as I painted. Handy as Marauders, if I ever go back to AoS or Warhammer.
The best thing about these guys, of course, is that they were an add-on bonus to the Kickstarter. That meant they didn't get bonus additional models thrown in like all the Orcs, Goblins and Dwarves did, and that means there aren't as many of them. And that means there's only six of them left to do, plus a boss and an agent. And that means I painted a monster in celebration.
This is the Oni, and jolly Oriental it is too. In this photo, the gold and the orange look almost identical, which is very annoying. |
The final heroes next week!
