Don't get too excited, this isn't the David Harbour version.
Continuing with the Winter Guard, naturally they would have an opposite number for Captain America - and it didn't look like they worked that hard on the design.
Red Guardian is the Russian bloke-with-shield superhero, although there's been about half a dozen of them over the years (Soviet characters didn't get plot armour). This latest version is a mutant (previously called 'Vanguard', which would have been less confusing) and, despite not being a leader, he brings a lot of support and control to the Winter Guard.
Painting-wise, it was nice to get back to a bodysuit character with bold colours, no cape and both feet planted. The red was a Khorne Red base, Mephiston Red layer and Evil Sunz Scarlett later. The white was a grey base with a thinned coat of Basilicanum Grey contrast and layer of Ulthuan Grey.
I'm looking forward to using him, although I'm still holding out for the Alexei Shostakov version, bringing a middle-aged paunch and lots of dad energy.
