On the Fly

 Nearly the end of the year. Appropriately enough, I have reached the end of the painting queue just in time!

The last few stragglers of the Dungeons and Lasers: Encounters set have made it at last. They've all got wings in some shape or form:

Some magpie-themed harpies

An armoured eagle familiar, who will see use as a Grapplehawk for Necromunda

This splendid Manticore is not related to Brian Blessed

And the Peryton, which I'd been saving until last as a cracker.

It's tearing the heart out of a Conquistador, for some reason. Poor chap. 

The photo was taken before I'd done final varnishes and blood effects (I'm impatient that way), so there might be a bit more gore the next time it's seen. 

Not the finest face I've ever done (awful angle to reach), but a good addition to this year's collection of Incidental Bald Beardie Men Getting Murdered, which started with the Spyrers. 

And here's another one. I like to think it's the same guy in different timelines.

Finally, I've also done a bit of bits box work, and scraped together this Malstrain Coalescence for Necromunda. The impaled pirate was an optional part of one of the DnL monsters (a Wyvern from a previous post), and although he's not quite wearing the right clothes for that time period, I don't think anyone will mind. 

Tyranid spare parts, mostly, and colourshift paint for the tentacles. 

Bit of lighting tweaking here - you can see the colourshift paint a bit better with varnish drying on it.

Job's a good 'un, that's another full set complete! Nothing else to paint here for a while, not until after Christmas at least when there might be some more Necromunda on the way. Good - that means there's time for some games!
