Good Lord! They said it would never happen, but they were wrong. I don't know who they are, or why they were talking about something so obscure and basically unimportant as three blokes getting together for a weekend of dice-based nerdery, but there you are. It's a crazy, mixed-up world out there, and if nothing else, our blog is a locus of international gossip and scandalmongery. Or so I would have you believe.

Back to the icy expanse of Felstad tonight, for a second clash between Chronomancy and Enchanting. Kas and I have been racking up the games this week, as both X-wing and Frostgrave are really firing up our hobby love right now. Quick, easy and satisfying, like a box of chicken nuggets. Probably just as good for our physical health too. 

Mmmm nuggets...

Yes, three consecutive evenings and four games played. Loving both games.

Back in the snowy maze of Felstad for tonight's battle report - another clash of Chronomancy and Enchanting, courtesy of myself (Kraken) and Kasfunatu!

Little has changed since our previous meeting. My warband is still scuffed from the first clash, with about a fifth of my dudes staying at home to nurse their injuries. No matter! For my wizard is an enchanter, and between him, his apprentice and some pretty damn sweet dice rolls, they're bringing a pair of large constructs with them to make up the numbers.

Ouch!

The Chronomancer's band is looking much bigger and better dressed than mine, it's true. Snipers, treasure hunters, barbarians - he's got the numbers.

Good job I have the cojones.

Frostgrave: Frost Footing

Welcome to 2016's first Woffboot writeup - Frostgrave, not a new system for us, but at least featuring a new player. New systems inbound shortly, though, so stay tuned...

This is General Kasfunatu's first outing in Felstad. He asked me what he'd need, seeing as I was hosting, and I said pen, paper, d20 and luck. Guess which one he brought most of? 

I could only find a couple of d20, my normal dice bag cunningly stored somewhere; but I had one pen and two bits of A4.

That's right, it was paper.

Back to the snowy city of Felstad for a second round of wizardly duelling! I, Kraken,

and I, Stylus,

will be battling our warbands as we squabble over the riches within a newly-thawed Mausoleum. Can its prizes be wrenched from the knucklebones of those guarding it?

Loadout

We'll be taking our warbands from last time out again. My Necromancer, 'Gold' Dulgur, won the first round. Along with new henchmen and Stylus's injuries from last time, I have a distinct numerical advantage, as well as a big, tough Barbarian to deploy!

Goldie is now a she, since I finished the paintjob on the model that played apprentice last time. Her new apprentice is Mr Bones on the extreme left, and after injuries from last time, I was packing two thugs, two thieves, a crossbowman, an archer, a big dog and an even bigger Barbarian. 

Slothslayer's Proxies - two archers, three goblin thugs, an apprentice and a treasure hunter. The Man-at-Arms was actually injured, but managed to make the team photo anyway.
