Chimera! (not the troop carrier)
I continue my 2017 monster mash (2 down, 3 to go) with the mish-mashiest of them all - the Chimera!
Which it not, as I once thought, pronounced 'Shim-era'. It is actually 'Ky-mere-ah', and so would more helpfully start with a 'K'. Actually, being a classical Greek monster, it doesn't even start with a 'C', but with the letter 'Chi', which is really the letter 'X'.
Classic Greek is confusing. No wonder Gerald Butler seemed so angry.

| "What do you mean?! - You snore! - Oh I don't- anyway, you have bad breath! - Because you never brush my teeth! - Oh, stop quickly, let's have a cup of tea!" |

WoffBoot X - Stormcast vs Chaos Alliance: No Stopping The Sigmartrain!
The dust had settled on our first battle, but now Generals Kasfunatu and East were looking interested in trying a game. And, after all, it was only midnight...
(So this will be more of a narrative report, rather than a turn-by-turn. I was chiefly occupied with keeping myself topped up with caffeine, so could do little more than take photos, rather than more detailed notes)

WoffBoot X - Chaos Beasts vs Stormcast: The Longest Day
WoffBoot X was always going to be Star Wars-themed (we had the new film to watch in the evening, a Rebellion board game, about 50 X-wing models and a marbletop kitchen counter that looked like a starfield).
But it wouldn't be right not to roll some Warhammer dice. So General Leofa brought out his three-basecoat Stormcast to face my Beasts of Chaos.

Spawn Again!
As is traditional in the week leading up to the WoffBoot, there'll be quite a few painting updates as we scramble to get our armies tabletop-ready.
I've got around 50 models in varying states of readiness on the painting table, so I'd better knuckle down and finish some off. Unlike the chap below, I've only got one pair of hands...

Green Stuff and Bitz Box ... bibbity bobbity boo
After a three-month hiatus (to deal with a spawn of a very different kind), work on my Beasts of Chaos warband continues apace*.
(*by which I mean: one beastman for every ten that Kraken is able to crank out)
I noted in my last battle report that I needed some Heroes, for flavour as much as combat effectiveness. So next on my painting list is the Beastmen's Big Bad: Morghur the Shadowgrave, Master of Skulls!

| Because it's GW: he was never going to be Master of Fibula, was he? |
I would like to say I'd thoroughly researched the Beastmen lore, and discovered that Morghur is truly the rotten heart of the herd, representing all that is unnatural and mutating, and the unkillable arch-nemesis of Ariel, Queen of Athel Loren.
All of the above is true, except the reason I went with Morghur was because I accidentally printed off his warscroll, and I didn't want to waste the sheet of A5.

Shepherds Watched Their Flocks (With Silver Bullets)
Day 16 and our advent brings us ... werewolves?
Were there wolves in the Nativity? I'm guessing they were implied. After all, the shepherds weren't just watching their flocks because they had a thing about gazing at sheep in the moonlight (this, after all, was Judea, not the Rhondda).

Live and die on this day."
