Bully's Special Prize

I seem to have taken a left turn into Age of Sigmar,

Galagaak, Raging Tarvox from Mierce Miniatures

But lets moove on regardless!

Silver Hells

Another check on the Nice List. Santa loves me!

Gaunt Summoner, Warhammer Quest Silver Tower and Warhammer Age of Sigmar

It's the Gaunt Summoner! The toughest model in the set. Santa hates me!

Swirly, Curly, Glowy, Killme

The Silver Tower is a maze of madness, a seemingly-endless journey into mind-boiling insanity...

Ogroid Thaumaturge, Warhammer Quest Silver Tower and Warhammer Age of Sigmar.

And to replicate the experience, GW have kindly given us the Ogroid Thaumaturge!

Chimera! (not the troop carrier)

I continue my 2017 monster mash (2 down, 3 to go) with the mish-mashiest of them all - the Chimera!

Chimera, Chaos Monster, Warhammer Age of Sigmar
"What do you mean?! - You snore! - Oh I don't- anyway, you have bad breath! -
Because you never brush my teeth! - Oh, stop quickly, let's have a cup of tea!"

Which it not, as I once thought, pronounced 'Shim-era'. It is actually 'Ky-mere-ah', and so would more helpfully start with a 'K'. Actually, being a classical Greek monster, it doesn't even start with a 'C', but with the letter 'Chi', which is really the letter 'X'.

Classic Greek is confusing. No wonder Gerald Butler seemed so angry.

WoffBoot X - Stormcast vs Chaos Alliance: No Stopping The Sigmartrain!

The dust had settled on our first battle, but now Generals Kasfunatu and East were looking interested in trying a game. And, after all, it was only midnight...

Age of Sigmar battle report: Breakthrough scenario between Stormcast Eternals and Chaos Grand Alliance.
... and the full moon was out.

(So this will be more of a narrative report, rather than a turn-by-turn. I was chiefly occupied with keeping myself topped up with caffeine, so could do little more than take photos, rather than more detailed notes)

WoffBoot X - Chaos Beasts vs Stormcast: The Longest Day

WoffBoot X was always going to be Star Wars-themed (we had the new film to watch in the evening, a Rebellion board game, about 50 X-wing models and a marbletop kitchen counter that looked like a starfield).

Age of Sigmar battle report: Pre-Emptive Strike scenario between Stormcast Eternals and Beasts of Chaos.

But it wouldn't be right not to roll some Warhammer dice. So General Leofa brought out his three-basecoat Stormcast to face my Beasts of Chaos.

Never Mind The Whys and Wereofor

I finally lost my Mierce Miniatures cherry! It's Broga, the Wereofor Thegn, no less - because I guess 'Pigman' is too difficult to spell.

A painting update for Mierce Miniatures Broga, Wereofor Thegn.

Let's wrap up this Chaos Beasts army!

Gor Blimey!

Is it me, or have we been overwhelmed with Gor recently? Well, they are core, so here's some more. Some more core Gor.

My first 'horde-level' post, painting like a Kraken!

Let Slip The Hogs Of War!

I want to expand the menagerie of my Chaos beasts, and since Bestigor and Ungor are the same genus as my existing Gor, it's time to bring on the piggies!

Spawn Again!

As is traditional in the week leading up to the WoffBoot, there'll be quite a few painting updates as we scramble to get our armies tabletop-ready.

I've got around 50 models in varying states of readiness on the painting table, so I'd better knuckle down and finish some off. Unlike the chap below, I've only got one pair of hands...

Green Stuff and Bitz Box ... bibbity bobbity boo

After a three-month hiatus (to deal with a spawn of a very different kind), work on my Beasts of Chaos warband continues apace*.

(*by which I mean: one beastman for every ten that Kraken is able to crank out)

I noted in my last battle report that I needed some Heroes, for flavour as much as combat effectiveness. So next on my painting list is the Beastmen's Big Bad: Morghur the Shadowgrave, Master of Skulls!

Morghur, Master of Skulls
Because it's GW: he was never going to be Master of Fibula, was he?

I would like to say I'd thoroughly researched the Beastmen lore, and discovered that Morghur is truly the rotten heart of the herd, representing all that is unnatural and mutating, and the unkillable arch-nemesis of Ariel, Queen of Athel Loren.

All of the above is true, except the reason I went with Morghur was because I accidentally printed off his warscroll, and I didn't want to waste the sheet of A5.

Age of Sigmar: The Beastly Storm Breaks

It's been a while since we've had a battle report, much less a fantasy one - so it's back we go to the Age of Sigmar!

Shepherds Watched Their Flocks (With Silver Bullets)

Day 16 and our advent brings us ... werewolves?

A clockwork orange at the bottom of your stocking.

Were there wolves in the Nativity? I'm guessing they were implied. After all, the shepherds weren't just watching their flocks because they had a thing about gazing at sheep in the moonlight (this, after all, was Judea, not the Rhondda).

Gory, Gory Hallelujah!

Only nine more bludgeoning days until Christmas!

You know, that tattoo should really be on a dead man's chest...

Behind Chest #15, we return those stalwarts of the Nativity: the livestock!

The mutated, bloodthirsty, Chaos-worshipping livestock, for sure. Doesn't everyone's school play go that way?

Fields of Gingham: Highborn Aelfs vs Beasts of Chaos

"So simple, even a small, easily-distracted child could follow the rules!" - with this in mind, I decided to put Age of Sigmar to the test, and challenge General Palafox to his first game.

A Cock And Trice Story

The monster I alluded to a few weeks ago has finally been finished. It takes longer when you daren't look the creature directly in the eye.
