Warlord of Galahir: For Real This Time

Dungeon Saga! It's the final *final* quest for Warlord of Galahir. Somewhat unimpressed by the milk run that was the last mission of the campaign, we asked Kraken to unleash his inner sadist and design us a proper finale that would shed blood and test our mettle.

I didn't realise I had an inner sadist. I thought he was mostly on the outside these days.

So we bring you the concluding chapter to Warlord of Galahir: the warlord has been slain, and now our heroes must escape the green tide and, not matter how many of them fall, to get the hostage out alive!

Warlord of Galahir: Soiled Goods

Our last foray into the Galahir! Save the merchant! Grab the loot! Kill the warlord! Increase productivity! Be happy!

A report from Dungeon Saga, Warlord of Galahir - Mission 6: I Believe These Are Mine.

As usual, Kraken, Leofa and Stylus (me) played over Skype. And to judge by the mission's introduction, we're not the only ones phoning it in.

Warlord of Galahir: Knock Knock

Fresh from our success in Dwarf King's Quest, we return to our Warlord of Galahir campaign.

Our next mission: rescue Pietor the Merchant!

(my secondary mission: paint up a model to represent Pietor the Merchant)

(And the doors. Right?)

Dwarf King's Quest: The Last Word

The battle reports are done, but we still haven't tapped out the well of WoffBoot XI

I apologise for the nature of these photographs. The hour was late, and there may have been beers.

With all the players in the same country for once, we finally play the epic conclusion to Dwarf King's Quest: Only One Gets Out Alive!

Warlord of Galahir: Bouncers Back

We got puréed in our last encounter with The Bouncers, but if first you don't succeed ... blame the questbook and generate some more effective dungeoneers!

Behold, two new-and-improved heroes, ready to re-try the mission!

Warlord of Galahir: Double Trollble

Warlord of Galahir rides again! And if you liked the starting mission, where the quest was to kill a Troll; you'll love this one, where we have to kill... two Trolls!

Not straining the imagination much, are we?

Warlord of Galahir: While You Were Sleeping

We're back into the Dungeon Saga of Galahir! Tonight's brave quest involves ... the murder of the unconscious.

Wait, what? Are we going to happily kill the minions in their sleep?

Red Dwarf IV: Justice
"I could happily kill him if he was on the job."

What the hell kind of heroes are these anyway? I blame Joe Abercrombie.

Warlord of Galahir: Do Not Feed The Orclings

The next mission of our greenskin Dungeon Saga introduces something different: a second room!

Off we go on another exciting adventure of Bloody Hell, Haven't You Painted Those Doors Yet?

Let's Go To Galahir!

New dungeon, new heroes - let's go hunt some orc!

Say hello to Guraf, Kapoka, Hrrath and Thessilar

After triumphing in Dwarf King's Quest (almost - we're still waiting for us all to be in the same country before attempting the finale), Leofa and I, Stylus, once again face the Evil Overlord Kraken in a brand new dungeon: Warlord of Galahir!

Bump 'n Grund

This is an auspicious post - we've reached number 600!

(so judging by the number of subscribers to this blog, that means you get to share around 100 posts per reader - who says you don't get value with the WoffBoot?)

A report from Dungeon Saga, Dwarf King's Quest - Mission 7: Final Insult.

Back to business: after coming so close in Mission 7 of Dwarf King's Quest, we decided to have another crack at Grund, the little guy with the great big hammer!

Kraken is plain, Stylus is bold, the dungeon is deep and the gags are old - let's do this!
(if you get bored, scroll to the end - there's a vote!)

Dwarf King's Crushed

The Dungeon Saga saga continues, and this time we get to face off against the penultimate boss villain: the eponymous Dwarf King himself!

And this is just the starting room.

Time to bump and Grund!

Going Solo

Dungeon Saga time once again! After banging our collective heads against the infuriating turnstile of Mission 6, we decided our SkypeBoot sessions were too precious for a repeat, and that's we'd jump ahead to the next one.

However, the completionist in me couldn't resist the chance to have one more swing at this Sisyphean quest. In the absence of any comrades, I could also try out the much-vaunted AI Rules for solo play.

Sunday, Monday .. happy days.

Let's find out if the real problem with this level ... was other people.

The Infernal Crypts campaign roars to a fiery climax!

Tale Spin

By Grabthar's Hammer, we're never getting out of this dungeon...

"I think we've got this - as long as that garbage-snake thing doesn't play an Interrupt card!)

After suffering our first defeat in the Turned Around quest of spinning rooms, Leofa and myself (Stylus) tried to shake off four months of dungeon rustiness and have another attempt. As usual Kraken was Overlording, and also operating the webcam on his phone, so you'll have to imagine the images.

This is not what I meant when I said level up.

By the second hour, I wasn't sure if the board was spinning or I was. I, Kraken, controlled the evil dead, while generals Leofa and Stylus were the forces of heroism, righteousness and revolution.

And so, forewarned about the tricky spinning mechanic, and forearmed with the knowledge of most of the dungeon layout, we set off to complete this quest!

Hell. It's about time.

What's this? Stylus is outpainting me by a mile this month! Legions - attack!

Hothouse Flowers

Here we are again, going back into Hell. So Meatloaf doesn't have to, I guess.

Get Out of the Kitchen

I do my painting in our kitchen.

Where the heat is so intense, this sword has gone all curly.

If You Can't Stand the Heat

Dungeon Saga time! An impromptu Skype session with General Kas. For his inaugural session, we started the Infernal Crypts campaign.

Appropriately, the devilishly lava-based board was laid out in my kitchen. Seems we could both stand it.
