It was time to clean out my cupboards. Amidst the heaving piles of crap, I managed to find a few of that most precious of hobby supplies - spare bodies!
Spare torsos means conversions in my book, and Necromunda being my current fixation, I set to work with clippers and art.
First up - a monthly freebie from GW. The nice lady in the store took pity on my embarrassed daughters when I dragged them in, and gave each of us a copy of this Darkoath warrior. |
I pulled the arms and head off this one and turned it into an Escher ganger |
This one got religion and has joined the Cawdor ranks |
An original Space Ork plastic body! Makes for a perfectly decent grenade-launcher scum, squatting to deal with the recoil no doubt. Marauder head, Genestealer Cult backpack. |
This guy is a Genestealer Cult torso on viking legs, sporting a Marauder Horseman cloak and Guardsman arms. |
He's clearly dangerous, look at that cloak. |
More GSC spare torsos, this time with a Van Saar head and a Scion plasma gun. His legs are half a Heroquest mummy, which works better than I expected. He's probably got leprosy under those wraps. |
More Heroquest bits, an antique Ogre from the Ogre Horde. Various bits of Ambot, GSC quadbike and Mechanicus terrain have turned it into a Lugger class Servitor, the specialist brute for House Orlock |
An original plastic Squat! He's got a space marine's bioscanner wired with thin plastic tubing from a sandwich bag tie, wrapped round the antenna from one of the Sector Mechanicus tractors. He'll potentially see use as a Brute Handler, a Hanger-On most often found in Goliath gangs. They get them cheap, but anyone can pay to have them handle their Brutes and make them resistant to pinning. |
Together at last! And for an eternity in the box until they actually see use, I suspect. |
Great kitbashing. That HeroQuest servitor is fantastic!
