The Taund of Music

Somehow, sneak previewing these two on our Whatsapp group chat turned into an extended Sound of Music pun riff.

Far - a long long way to strike

Commission work for Kasfunatu, as usual for my Tau efforts. First up, we've got Commander Farsight and his spiffy new model.

Tau, do you solve a problem like Maria?

Lovely stuff, but super-fragile ankles! Carrying him over the North Sea caused double fractures, which took quite a bit of careful pinning to fix. Nice pose, though, with the dramatic flourish in full swing.

KV129 Stormsurge, the infamous Lonely Goatherd configuration

The other one is a second Stormsurge suit for the T'pau Sept. This time, it's been converted very nicely so that the missile launchers are on the shoulders and it's carrying the big gun like a trooper. It's a great look, more of a giant Broadside than the slightly static look of the original.

Battleship dazzle for the paintjob. Last time I did one, I embarrassingly ran out of Tau Light Ochre mid-paint, and ended up doing it in much darker shades than the rest of the army. This one redresses the balance somewhat - a few transfers to finish it off, a few crystals on the base and Bau'b's yer unc'l.

Tau'f wedersehen, Goodbye

In between the endless panel trimming, I managed to fit in a quick pair of Rhino doors. Now the black Rhino can be fielded with the Alpha Legion more convincingly than ever before.

No magnets, just a very pleasingly exact slotta fit.

And that's my lot for the week!

  1. I do like the Stormsurge's pose, and great paint job as always (lovely strata on the rock that Farsight is standing on too!)

    1. You'll be even more pleased to hear that the arms are actually fully magnetised! It doesn't give it much of a range of movement thanks to the shape of the gun and the squatting thighs, but it flexes at the shoulders, elbows and wrists. If it had a pointy hand, it could do one-handed muscles poses and all sorts!
