From the mortal realms to completion in less than three editions!
I've still got lots more to paint, but at least this gets me up to a total of 10 - which is handy, as I can now use them as either Bloodreavers or the curiously-named Jakhals for World Eaters.
For sculpts that are getting on a bit, I'm still very keen on them. They're a fair bit of work for expendable chaff, but worth the effort.
In painting terms, it's just a matter of getting the flesh tones right (mixing up the colours, to keep it interesting), and I've found a streak of Druchii Violet does wonders for showing scar tissue (they have a lot of scars).
Once that's done, it's armour and weapons and lots of fiddly belts and buckles. And then a liberal coating of Blood for the Blood God.
I normally tackle big units head-on, so it's been nice taking on a small group of five. I just have to wonder when I'll swing around to get the rest done.
Those models look really good, they definitely hold up well. And great painting as always! The first individual pic above made me think he's almost singing into a microphone - feel like it'd be possible to convert a band to rival the Ork Rokkas
