They Dug Too Deep

This week, on When Dwarves Go Bad...

Yeah, more Massive Darkness. These are the Dwarf Warrior mobs, along with their bosses. Nice pick for dungeon monsters, these! Not the spiky Chaos Dwarves of GW, despite the pointy hats. No, these are more like DnD's Svarfneblin, the lunatic deep gnomes. Good models, scrawny and dirty-looking, and anybody armed with a mattock gets my vote of approval straight off.

These were undercoated with Mournfang Brown, which was the base for their skin tones, then blues and blacks for armour and robes. Closer to something you might expect from goblins, I decided, although the bosses got nice shiny gold armour. They probably forced their underlings to mine and forge it for them, I expect.

There were rather a lot of these, so I didn't do a lot of other stuff. Two heroes, though, because I want to get this lot all done!

This is Zoe the Dwarf Pit Fighter Beserker. Mrs Kraken had the dubious privilege of breaking this one in in a pick up game the other night (which, amazingly, she didn't seem to hate! which is progress of a sort), and had strong opinions about skin tones for viking warrior women. So this pale redhead has a stab at freckles, which are of course too small for mortal brushwork - a little dab of Lahmian Medium plus Tau Light Ochre, but it's nearly too pale to be seen irl.
And here's the other Bloodmoon Assassin, Siccarius, the mirror twin of the one from the other week.

And the good news is I'm getting there. There's just three more batches of minions before I'm on to the monsters, which will be an excellent break after so many maniples of monopose miniatures.

Bring 'em on!
