That's All Folks

The last Web Warrior I've painted is bringing home the bacon!

Marvel Crisis Protocol - Spider-Ham

Spider-Ham (aka Peter Porker) is the looniest of alternate dimensions to feature in the Spider-verse franchise, with easily the best origin story (a spider bitten by a radioactive pig).

I found him a bit of a swine to paint. I'm familiar with layering up the spiderweb uniform by now, but Spider-Ham really is a tiny model (enough to give Rocket Racoon a run for his money), so there's a lot of fine detail.

But once that's out of the way, he becomes less of a boar. The sound effect to his oversized cartoon hammer is a great touch. I tried to blend the yellow to a darker orange, but the photos don't seem to have picked it up, so maybe I should have just gone hog-wild with the washes.

On the table, he's the Web Warrior's first 2 Threat character, so he can put his trotters on a back objective and cheaply score. Everything else on his card seems very unpredictable, which is entirely appropriate and leaves you in hock to fortune. That said, he's easily knocked snout and may find himself wee weeing all the way home.

That's all the Web Warriors for now. I think I'll switch to some terrain next, since my model cabinet could use an extension to hammerspace right now.

  1. Quite the curl in his tail, really, though I usually pass the pig puns by.
