Check Out My Man-Thing!

 (steady on, madam)

Marvel Crisis Protocol - Man-Thing

Dr Ted Sallis, in the fine tradition of all comic book scientists, experimented on himself and accidentally became a monstrous creature. He now hangs around the swamps and guards interdimensional portals in his spare time.

His brief, but memorable, appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe was in the TV special Werewolf by Night, which is as close as we've gotten to a Midnight Suns affiliation.

Painting-wise, Man-Thing is something of a palette cleanser from the regular-sized-people-in-spandex which makes up the majority of Crisis Protocol miniatures.

I approached it basically as I would a troll, and gave my new toothpick-drybrushing method another try:
  • Skin: Caliban Green base, drybushing Elysian Green, Nurgling Green, Moot Green
  • Vines: Bestial Brown base, Balor Brown layer, Seraphim Sepia wash
  • Twigs: Bestial Brown base, Tallarn Sand layer, Agrax Earthshade wash
  • Fungus: Rakarth Flesh base, Reikland Fleshshade wash
  • Rock: Mechanicis Standard Grey base, Dawnstone layer, Athonian Camoshade wash

Some extra flowers and moss for the base, and I can now play with my Man-Thing!
