EXT: The Wallow

Wading through more terrain...

Following up on the swamp trees, here's the swamp tiles. Six flat decorative plates that build into a comprehensive collection of mushroomy, muddy murk. 

Quick and easy, mostly done with inks and drybrushes over the brown undercoat. And on the side, as nice a bunch of scatter details as you could wish for. 

The big dead fish is one of the absolute best - it didn't make it in on stretch goals, but they found room on the sprues anyway. Glorious!

The dangling ham on the side makes this an attractive residence.

A pile of wharfside junk

The baskets of fish didn't come out too well - I was trying a gloss scale effect that hasn't worked. So they look like random offal, but I guess that works too.

Dryad! Looks like something straight out of the old Narnia illustrations.

Once I'd finished it, I got hit with a sudden urge to make a display background for it. So a single evening's work produced this mud pool, which is sprayed the same colour as the mud pools in the tiles above. Straight dark brown from the spray can, plus a bit of Agrax Earthshade and Skrag Brown dabbed round the edges, and a gloss varnish finish. Should look good on the jungle or beach mats.

Somehow, a Nighthaunt Chainrasp slunk its way into this batch, so it's a haunted swamp now. 

That's the first box of D&L done! Straight on to the next, but first a few collected shots.

That's the full box's worth, just about. A bit crowded laid out like this, but looks nice.
