A Delaque of Propriety

Yes, I got the extended Delaque box. Let's just pretend it was inevitable and I had no say in the matter.

Sorry not sorry. These are lovely models, and I'd been on the fence for a long time. The Spyker last month just tipped me over the edge.

There are eyes inside that terrifying hood. Have mercy, GW, that's no place to put eyeballs.

The chap at the top is a psychoteric worm operator. These nasty tunnelling constructs let the operator target their powers through the worm, so they can stay nice and safe behind a wall (for example). Fairly expensive gear, and in all honesty, most of the psychic powers available to Delaque are pretty clutch. Nothing like being nowhere near where they go off to make it all feel safer, though!

Next, a pair of Nacht-Ghuls. These are Champions in the gang, always able to infiltrate and start a fight from much nearer than usual. Which is excellent news for them, because they're melee specialists with some truly nasty weapons. The claws are the best (lots of extra attacks), but the sword is cheaper (and has the best pose).

The harness operator left me a bit cold, to be honest. Posing them up on top of a spindly post is sort of cool, but makes the model even more fragile than the Doc Ock arms already make it. I left the post for later conversion work, gave her a pistol and kept her on the floor, as well as swapping in a Genestealer Cult head, and I'm much happier.

Finally, the Piscean Spektor, some sort of alien brain in a floating combat suit. Very Matrix, which feels fitting, until you discover that you can pose it standing up and it loses all gravitas.

Hello my baby
Hello my honey
Hello my ragtime girl

That, surely, is all the Delaque I'm ever going to paint. Even if I do kind of want to get another box of gangers and the alternative weapons. That would just be overkill, right?

Right. Good.

That's the full collection!

  1. The psychteric worm operator is fantastic (surely the worms should be burrowing into enemies in a Matrix-style way?) but my main question is why haven't you properly modelled the music-hall version of the Spektor with hat and cape...? Or perhaps you've just magnetised them ;-)
