Apply Some Oinkment

The last of this month's Hobbypocalypse challenge - some bacon butties for Creations of Bile!

It was at this moment, the Big Bad Wolf knew ... 

With a grudging nod to basic tactics, I decided that my crazy-melee should have some firepower. Or at least something to sit on the home objective all game and still shoot.

Got to hog those victory points!

More of the new Chaos Space Marine sculpts - I've been through each box a couple of times by now. They're not quite as versatile as the original multipose heretics, but I'm not bored of them yet.

The Aspiring Champion (who, despite commanding a shooting squad, managed to get hold of a power maul) was mixed from a easy-to-build Primaris sergeant. He looks even bigger than his squadmates, and I even swapped the helmet attached to his hip for a nice chaotic one.

Same quickie paint scheme as the previous squad: Black primer, Wraithbone primer, wash, drybrush, and then carefully add in the gold trim.

• Armour: Black primer, Wraithbone primer, Seraphim Sepia wash, Bleached Bone drybrush
• Gold: Retributor Armour base, Agra Earthshade wash, Golden Griffin drybrush
• Flesh: Bugman's Flesh, Reikland Fleshshade, Kislev Flesh layers
• Red claws: Khorne Red base, Nuln Oil wash

This made them very quick and easy to paint - dangerously quick, you might say, if you weren't intending this army to get any bigger, but the possibilities of escalation just opened up (it's only a fifth heretic army)

Adding a bit of anti-armour punch to the squad is this grunt with the missile launcher. Who looks like he's enjoying himself so much, I wish I had more Puppetswar heads to add to them (sadly, there's only a choice of five pig heads - maybe there's not a huge demand for them).

So that's the second of my Troops units done, someone to mind the shop while the rest of the army charges forward!
