A Nice Cup Of Grognog!

On the twentieth day of Advent the WoffBoot brought to me ... a wee snifter to keep out the cold.

Don't worry, he won't bite.
Just bark.

Mugs at the ready!

The official fluff for Night Goblins (or Moonclans) makes occasional reference to them drinking 'Fungus Brew'. Not much else is made of it (certainly not on the scale of Dwarfish boozing), but the term always stuck with me, and I thought there might be a nice little unit filler to be done.

The cauldron is from Titan Forge's wonderful 'Drakskulls Menace' range, while the cook is just a regular gobbo.

The fire is a blend of White Scar, Averland Sunset and Slayer Orange, all blended together with that lovely little wash, Cassandora Yellow.

The goop inside the pot is an unholy concoction of Blood for the Blood God, mixed with Biel-Tan Green, then topped off with Nurgle's Rot.

From the contents of the mixture, not to mention the bloodied chopping block with severed limbs beside it, it's possible that fungus is not the only ingredient in this brew...

With that unit filler done, my Night Goblin spears were only one model short of completion, so I just had to paint up another Netter to fill the gap. Simplicity itself to paint - but damn, it was tricky work to pick out that net.

"This is my favourite weapon: I call her 'Annette'."

And so completes, not just a unit filler, but the whole damn unit - now there's efficiency for you!

Bottoms up!

  1. That cauldron is superb! Really lovely filler, and very characterful.

    1. Thanks, I've been keen to do this for a while, but it was technical paints that spurred me to try the concoction.
(let's not dwell on how the unit manages to shift the cauldron, and the fire beneath it, every time it moves)
