Swiss Army Tank

All this fighting! Battle report after battle report on the blog, and no hobby articles in sight. It's almost like in the grim darkness of the far future, there is only war or something.

But no! For there is also Paint!

Big Macragge Meal: Ultramarines vs Tyranids

Speaking of returning grudge matches, General Hotspur was back for another round last night. His Ultramarines gave me a proper thumping last time they visited. Could I return the favour?

Charge of the Blight Brigade: Nurgle Daemons vs Tyranids

Mere days after the Woffboot, the lure of a game was still hard upon us. With the new reigning champion champing at the bit, it was time to introduce General Pootle to the noble art of SkypeBoot. Luckily, he had some new ideas he wanted to play out, and I had some new models to oblige him with!

Battle Report: The Siege of Rylstone Keep

Chapter Master Kasfunatius, Lord of the Crypt Angels, has once more engaged the fell mechanisms of the Casket of Dust. Perhaps in hope of recreating the Rubicon Primaris in his own way, the Chapter Master has sealed himself inside the device, safe inside the walls of the Rylstone Keep.

A narrative battle of Warhammer 40k between Space Marines and Chaos Daemons. 5000pts each side.

Or is he safe? No sooner is the Casket activated when an unprecedented Warp Storm blows up, encircling the Keep and preventing the defensive troops from communicating with the rest of the Chapter.

From the storm, a tide of daemons emerges. Greater Daemons of every hue, an endless swarm of lesser creatures at their heels. Captain Jereann and Codicier Ibrani, both of the newly arisen 11th Company, must command the defenders and awaken a trio of Knights to prevent the daemonic incursion from taking their Chapter Master!

Yeah, we got carried away for the final battle of the 'Boot. It's Crypt Angels vs Daemons, 5000 points a side.

Stylus and I are taking control of the Crypt Angels, Generals Kas, Leofa and Bubonicus are the Daemons. Playing on a T-shaped board, using as much of Kas's collection as we possibly can, in a home-brew narrative scenario game on a scale none of us have attempted before. Nothing can possibly go wrong!

WoffBoot XIII: T'au Kill a Rotting-bird?

The Second Law (Pootle's Death Guard) vs T’pau (Kasfunatu's T'au)

The final battle to see who claimed the Woffboot title! My diseased but disgustingly resilient Death Guard were in front due to two major victories (7pts each) and Kasfunatu was the only general who could stop me.

It was a tall order. I had to get my own major victory (a win by 7VPs), which would make the score 16v15 in my favour. Seeing as the Death Guard already had two of their own major victories, this was going to be tough.

We were playing Vital Intelligence from CA18. One objective was in the middle of the table, with four more midway to each corner. Each objective held is worth 1VP at the end of each complete turn (not each player’s turn) but a D6 roll each turn makes that objective (or all five on a 6) worth double points.

WoffBoot XIII: Militarum Tempestus and Inquisition vs Space Wolves

The third and final round of battles in the WoffBoot XIII - and, as tradition dictates, the two most experienced generals are duking it out over the Wooden Spoon!

It's Civil War in the Imperium as the Space Wolves take on the Inquisition! I guess 'Vital Intelligence' is just an expression in these parts...

Woffboot XIII: Painting Elf

Image result for hobby dobby

I'm a very early riser. Getting up a couple of hours before the other 'Booters gave me free time to fill. Some of that went on poring over army books, some of it went on eating breakfast (in that order, too) and the rest went on painting miniatures furtively like a Hobby Dobby. Here are the results!
